Chevening Scholarships
Chevening scholarships are aimed at the leaders of tomorrow. They are highly competitive and limited in number. To be successful you must be able to demonstrate not only an outstanding academic record, but also clear leadership potential and a proven track record of success in your professional life. The committee will be looking for you to demonstrate that you have more to offer than your peers and contemporaries, and have the potential and ambition to make a substantial, positive difference in your chosen field.
Scholarships last up to one year and are typically granted for Masters degree courses. The awards will cover full university tuition fees as well as a generous contribution towards living costs. The approximate value of scholarships will be £15,000 each.
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate that they can make a positive contribution to achieving the FCO’s Policy Goals.
Candidates should intend to pursue postgraduate study and are expected to make a formal application for a university place direct to the institution of their choice as soon as possible. Please do not wait until you secure funds before making applications to universities. Confirmation by an applicant of his/her placement at a British university is considered an asset by the selection committee at all stages of the selection process.
The deadline for applications is 30 November 2009.
